THURSDAY

EGO of LOLA
Machine Learning with Playform

PART 1 - Monday 31.05, 18:00-19:30 - VIRTUAL
PART 2 - Thursday 03.06, 13:00-15:00 - PHYSICAL (Stockholm)

When digging through lost terminals and hacked API's, a snippet was discovered, rumoured to be a clue to the Book of LOLA: a collection of stories fundamental to the creation of LOLA. It has led us to decipher pages from the book. While the decryption was incomplete, it is still possible to understand some of the instructions.

In this workshop you will collaborate with Machine Learning models in order to create new visual and aural works, using your laptop. You need to attend both PART 1 and PART 2.

EYE of LOLA
Augmented Reality in Spark AR

PART 1 - Monday 31.05, 19:30 - 21:00 - VIRTUAL
PART 2 - Thursday 03.06, 16:00-18:00 - PHYSICAL (Stockholm)

Within the decrypted pages, words speak of the EYE of LOLA; an incantation providing the user with the power of divine sight, revealing truths in the eyes of others. Written in the decryption are words so powerful a single person can only be responsible for one, and it seems that if we let go of all 99 words the world will rumble, and eternal bliss will be upon the universe.

In this workshop you will learn the basics of building Augmented Reality experiences using your own laptop and a mobile screen device. You need to attend both PART 1 and PART 2.

FRIDAY

CYBERNETICS ACCESSORIES - Soldering & Jewellery
Friday 04.06, 10:30 - 12:30 - PHYSICAL (Stockholm)

Transhumanism, the idea of evolving the human race through philosophical thoughts and body enhancements, is presented in a workshop where participants are encouraged to join the “BORG” - as they themself construct their cyborg accessories. Through this device LOLA is able to always track participants and identify who they are - but it turns out the devices, when used in an unexpected way, can deliver truths otherwise unseen.

With pre-made kits, participants exercise some basic soldering steps, while building their design. The lights used are UV or simple LEDs which purpose is to highlight parts of the venue - or simply can be used as a light in the dark.

GAME OF STATUS - Improv Theatre
Friday 04.06, 10:30 - 12:30 - PHYSICAL (Stockholm)

How do we recognize true leadership in a world of pretend politics? Bounded by existing power structures and constantly flooded by a televised display of transactional arrogance, how do we avoid mistaking weakness for strength? Can leaders be openly vulnerable? Do they exercise their Power based on fear, or charm? How do we relate to people close to us, and what can we do to navigate the trappings of Relative Status? Can we use it for a Greater Good?

In this performative workshop, we delve into notions related to Power and Strength. We will be looking at the effects of your attitude and behaviour, and the effects that it has on others and your relating to one another.

SATURDAY

MUTATIONS - Digital Image Processing
Saturday 05.06, 10:30 - 12:30  - PHYSICAL (Stockholm)

The workshop revolves around digital image processing. The different steps of the workshop will bring the participants to multiple application of filters and parameter changes. The rendering in its dynamics and its visual output is unique and irreproducible. The intended purpose is to enter in the computer based logic of scripts involved in the creation, or more exactly, in the destruction of an image.

The participants, at the end, will contribute in creating parts of the A/V live “Dreams of Annihilation” that will be performed in the evening. Participants should bring their laptops with TouchDesigner installed.
